Bones like the ribcage and skull provides protection to the internal organ inside it. The skull protects the brain, and the ribcage protects the lungs and the heart and other internal organs.

Skeletal system provide support in order for us to moves. Joints are design in multiple motion ranges and muscles are attach to the bones and by contraction it will make the body move accordingly.

Bones stores important minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Calcium is essential component for muscle contraction and blood coagulation cascade. Phosphorus is important component of cell membrane and nucleic acid.

Bone marrow which are located inside the long bone is essential in making red blood cells and white blood cells. Red blood cells provide transport of oxygen to the different parts of the body and white blood cell (lymphocyte is important component of the immune system which protects us mostly from infection.
