Answer:
during those painful seconds, until you burn to crisps. The Earth’s cool, solid surface is only a very thin layer swimming over the molten material. If that layer mixed into the other layers, no life would be possible on this planet. If the whole material would be solid and cool to allow living this on the surface, there would be also no lining thing on the surface. Without the rotating ferrous ball of the core there would be no magnetic shielding against the solar wind, and Earth would loose all of its water and most of its atmosphere, changing something similar to Mars.
