I understand that preserving our own culture is important, which I agree with, definitely. Jeepneys are part of the Philippine culture. The ambience would of course look different without seeing jeepneys roaming on roads, as if we forgot to value that that is our culture. But I think that’s not how it should be viewed. Filipinos have to keep in mind that modernizing jeepneys wouldn’t in any way adulterate that part of our identity. It’s important to look through and consider the external factors, to understand why it has to be done.
