Materials: Matchstick, candle, metal spoon or metal rod Precautionary Measures: 1. Be careful in handling hot objects. 2. Do not play with fire. 3. Tie back long hair. 4. Put away flammable objects. Procedure: 1. Hold the metal spoon and feel its temperature. 2. Light the candle. 3. Put one end of the metal spoon in contact with the flame while holding the other end 4. Observe what happens. 5. After a few minutes feel the middle part of the spoon. Guide Questions: 1. What is the source of heat? 2. How will you describe the temperature of the metal spoon before placing it on the flame? 3.
