During that time, the success of a celebration is being measure in the quality of wine that you will serve to the guests. Unfortunately they run out of wine. So the mother of Jesus (but not totally mentioned in the Gospel) approached him and told him that their is no more wine. But Jesus told him that it is not yet his time. Since Jesus cannot say no to his mother, he asked the servant to fill the containers with water, and they did what was instructed to them. Jesus prayed, and after sometime, they taste the water in the container and it tastier than the wine that was served first.
