What are the situations that inspired you to be thankful as well as unthankful for the kind of acts received from others?
The situation that I'm thankful for this year, I've spent more time outside, and my attention has been drawn to the basic pleasures of the day. COVID - 19 makes the things I want to do canceled or decreased due to gathering constraints. And i'm so thankful to those people who hel me to survive this year. I've also been given new areas of time in my life. If it weren't for the fact that it's 2020, I'd be rushing through life, hardly pausing to appreciate the benefits that each day has to offer.
I'm thankful for the larger open spaces in my life—for less running and rushing around and for more peaceful stillness. Granted, there have been significant interruptions to the peace and quiet, such as the first few months when all of the children were completing remote learning at home.
The situation that I shouldn't be thankful for is when it causes you to lose sight of your own efforts and achievements.
While thanking others for their achievements might be motivational, you shouldn't go so far as to lose sight of your own contributions. Others play a part in our accomplishments, but don't forget that our own hard work plays a significant influence as well. It would be best if you never were so thankful that you begin to doubt whether or not you deserve another person in your life. When gratitude is combined with self-esteem, it is most effective.
