Sagot :

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

  • Earth's interior is by looking at how energy travels from the point of an earthquake, called seismic waves.
  • What can seismic waves tell us? Studies of the different types of seismic waves can tell us much about the nature of the Earth's structure.
  • Seismic waves move faster through denser or more rigid material.
  • As P-waves encounter the liquid outer core, which is less rigid than the mantle, they slow down.

WHAT ACTIONS WILL I TAKE

  • Stay inside.
  • Drop under heavy furniture such as a table, desk, bed or any solid furniture.
  • Cover your head and torso to prevent being hit by falling objects.
  • Hold on to the object that you are under so that you remain covered.

WHAT NEW QUESTIONS DO I HAVE

  • What portion of the earth's volume is occupied by the mantle?
  • What is the lithosphere composed of?
  • What property distinguishes the lithosphere, asthenosphere, and mesosphere within the earth's mantle?
  • What are some facts about earth's interior?
