Sagot :
The concept of global citizenship is based on the belief that one's identity transcends location and political borders, and that one's obligations and rights are derived from participation in a larger class called "humanity." This does not imply that such a person denies or waives their nationality or other more local identities, but rather that such identities are given "second priority" to their membership in a global community. The term may have a similar meaning to "global citizen" or "cosmopolitan" in broad usage, but it also has extra, specialized meanings in different circumstances. Global citizenship has been promoted by a number of organizations, including the World Service Authority.
