6 teaspoons sugar
1 cup of water
.1 measuring cup (1 cup capacity)
1 measuring spoon (1/2, isp capacity)
2 small clear, transparent bottle
2 stirrers /spoon
1 thermometer
CAUTION: Use carefully the following laboratory instrurnents/kitchen materials to avoid damage and accident during the conduci of activity.
Procedure: 1. Put 20 mL (approximately 2 tablespoons) of water in a small clear transparent bottle. Add teaspoon of sugar and stir. 01. What is the appearance of the solutions? Write your observations.
2. To the sugar solution in step #1, add a teaspoon sugar, a small portion at a time and stir the solution to dissolve the sugar. At this point, you have added 1 teaspoon sugar.

Observation: The water is able to pull individual sugar molecules from the bulk sugar crystals into the solution because solvent is attracted to the solute which is the sugar.
