What are the three little bones in ear?
The three bones found in the human ears are: Stapes also known as stirrup which is considered the smallest human bone, the Hammer in the eardrum, and lastly, the Anvil found in between the series of bones.
DEFINITION
• Stapes is found within the inner ear. Due to its shape it is also termed as stirrup.
• Malleus is the bone attached to the eardrum (see picture). It is also known as the hammer since it is the one that transmits sound vibrations from the eardrum.
• Incus also known as anvil is the one that receives sound vibrations from the hammer, it is found in between the chain of bones.
