Multiple factors, including cultural background, experiences, and, most importantly, relationships with adults and peers affect the development of a child's self- concept.

Nurture
Nurture is more influential than nature. Whether asked about influences on a baby adopted at birth, on their own lives, on an aggressive child or a violent young person, almost all respondents emphasised nurture.
