Charter School Programs
Independently ran- The operators of the school, teachers and administration, have more freedom to focus on particular issues, and specific problems students may be having. The operators also have more freedom on what materials they may feel necessary to purchase to address certain issues.
Still publicly funded- No tuition fees and school is still open to all students. Still receives funding for basic school operations such as meals, funding for materials, school SRO (School Resource Officer) etc.
KIPP- Knowledge is Power Program. This program allows students that come from rough backgrounds to get a little extra help such as reduced or free meals. Students in this program have a 90% graduation rate with 80% going on to attend college.
STRIVE- This program, similar to KIPP, focuses on kids who need extra attention. This is a growing program that has already achieved top academic honors in Colorado. This program allows teachers to focus on the individual kid's needs that he/she may not receive at a traditional public school
