Answer:

Inferno Canto 1

Explanation:

-Midway through his earthly life, Dante- being the author and the protagonist, finds himself in a dark, fearful, impenetrable, wild forest, and having lost his way from the right path. The thought of this becoming a memory makes him scared. He didn't realize what happened because his soul was sleepy and numb, and he imagines that the dark forest metaphorically symbolizes sin. It appears to me that the forest represents darkness and chaos. Then he saw the mountain that represents light, peace, and the way out of the chaotic forest. Dante looks up to see the light shining on the hilltop. As the peaceful sight comforts him with surrounding darkness, he then attempts to climb the mountain. He is encouraged by the peaceful, bright rays of the sun. It made him hopeful and forgettable of the scary forest. As he begins to climb the mountain, a leopard leaps in front of him, blocking his way and forcing him to turn back and evade. But for him, becoming hopeful was taken away by a glance as the hungry and terrifying lion followed by a she-wolf appeared. The she-wolf comes forward, driving Dante back and into the dark, scary forest. As the forest symbolizes sin, the three beasts analogies three different sins: the leopard represents lust, the lion-pride, and the wolf represents avarice.
