Why are cations positive?
If an atom loses more electrons, it becomes positively charged because there are now more protons than electrons. This is called a cation.
Why are anions negative?
If an atom gains one or more electrons, it becomes negatively charged since there are now more electron than protons. Resulting the particle called anion.
