Sagot :

Answer:

Seismic Waves

Here are my answers:

  1. When I dropped the stone, it created a ripple effect across the basin. Small, circular waves started traveling from the epicenter towards the basin’s rim.
  2. The reason why ripples formed is because of the contact of the stone with water. The stone displaced the water, and it resulted to a rippling effect.
  3. The ripples continued to the rim of the basin, and then went back to the origin. It then went back to the rim, and it continued multiple times.

What I learned from his experiment is that seismic waves can travel all over the world. There are three types of seismic waves: P-waves, S-waves, and surface waves. The surface waves are the most destructive.
